Shut Up And Dribble?

Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant and Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James during a Christmas Day game at Quicken Loans Arena.

Laura has put raisin’s in the potato salad again. After comment’s Lebron James and Kevin Durant made concerning their views on the present state of our country’s leadership, Fox news anchor Laura Ingraham felt some kind of way. Instead of responding the way an adult would respond, she thought it would be a good idea to level personal attacks. The kind that that Major General Benjamin Butler had to defend against when he occupied New Orleans during the Civil War. After the southern belles menfolk were forced from the “Big Easy”, by Union troops, the ladies took it upon themselves to harass the Union soldiers and Officers by throwing piss from their windows on them…. among other things. Really. It got so bad, the General had to issue “General Order 28.”

Hdqrs Department of The Gulf

New Orleans, May 15,1862

As the officers and soliders of the United States have been subject to repeated insults from the women (calling themselves ladies) of New Orleans in return for the most scrupulous non-interference and courtesy on our part, it is ordered that hereafter, when any female shall by word, gesture, or movement insult or show contempt for any officer or soldier of the United States, she shall be regarded and held liable to be treated as a woman of the town plying her avocation.

By command of Major-General Butler.

Now basically the General was saying you will be treated as a lady unless you act like something else. During a podcast by ESPN’s Cari Champion James and Durant made the following comments:

LeBron James“The climate is hot. The number one job in America, the appointed person is someone who doesn’t understand the people. And really don’t give a f— about the people. When I was growing up, there was like three jobs that you looked to for inspiration or you felt like these were the people who could give me light. It was the president of the United States, it was whoever was the best in sports and then it was, like, whoever was the greatest musician at the time. You never thought you could be them, but you could grab inspiration from them. If there was a neighborhood African American cop, and he was cool as hell coming around, I felt like I could be him. I never felt like I could be the president of the United States, but I grabbed inspiration from that. At this time right now, with the president of the United States, it’s at a bad time, and while we cannot change what comes out of that man’s mouth, we can continue to alert the people that watch us, that listen to us, that this is not the way.”

Kevin Durant – “When you’re talking about leadership and what’s going on in our country, it’s all about leadership. And I learned that playing basketball. I learned a lot of life skills from playing basketball. … You need to encourage people and that’s what builds a great team, and I feel like our team as a country is not ran by a great coach.”

Now the first thing that Laura said was the comments were “barely intelligible” and ” an ungrammatical take.” Then she doubled down by adding, “I’m numb to this commentary – like. Must they run their mouths like that? Unfortunately, a lot of kids—and some adults—take these ignorant comments seriously,” Ingraham said. “Look, there might be a cautionary lesson in LeBron for kids: This is what happens when you attempt to leave high school a year early to join the NBA. And it’s always unwise to seek political advice from someone who gets paid a hundred million dollars a year to bounce a ball. Oh, and LeBron and Kevin: You’re great players but no one voted for you. Millions elected Trump to be their coach. So keep the political commentary to yourself or, as someone once said, shut up and dribble.”

Well, I going to tell you something someone else once said also, “Watch yo mouth.”You will say and do anything to keep your spot on the ladder, harass anybody. Barely intelligible… please. You are a college grad, but you stand with a bunch of old white men hoping you are the one to break the glass ceiling, but soon as you touch it, they move it up a floor. You keep thinking you one of them, but you one of us Laura. In a few years they will replace you with someone else. That’s what they do. As for us, all you will be is a distant memory. Guess who will be remembered… the people that dribble.
