Chicken With Macaroni And Cheese Please

In Broward County, Florida, during the presidenital race between Al Gore and George Bush, Gore  requested a hand recount in four counties (Broward, Miami Dade, Palm Beach, and Volusia), as provided under Florida state law. State law provided that the recount be taken place with in a certain amount of time. Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris (also the co-chair of George W. Bush’s election efforts in Florida) announced she would reject any revised totals from those counties if they were not turned in by 5:00 p.m. on November 14, the statutory deadline for amended returns. The Florida Supreme Court extended the deadline to November 26,  but the decision was later vacated by the U.S. Supreme Court. The same court which had been pack with conservatives by his father. So to make a long story short for those who were not here, the Supreme Court ruled in a 7–2 vote that the Florida Supreme Court’s ruling requiring a statewide recount of ballots was unconstitutional. With only two hours remaining until the December 12 deadline, the Supreme Court’s order effectively ended the recount, and the previously certified total held. You know the rest. President Bush drove our country into a recession and started the longest war in American history. I was 18 years younger when he started this war and some of us were not even born. I’m not going to mention the orphans and widows this President was responsible for.  The next presidential eight years brought America its first African American president and a liberalist to boot.  Although I didn’t agree with all his views, the Bush years left me feeling some kinda way. I will never forget the anguish and loathing I felt for that president after seeing the young men and women maimed and disfigured by the unnecessary war that maniac started. I got a first hand glimpse as my father was war a veteran and had to go to Walter Reed Army Medical Center for his care. All of the most critically injured and most devastatingly disfigured patriots from that war were sent to Walter Reed. When Obama won, it was like a Jimmy Carter, Reagan moment. Now don’t get me wrong. I would have voted for Obama even if he was a white nationalist. No way I was going to let the first black Presidential contender get by without my vote. There were a couple of things though. We will get into that at another time. Anyway, we are now face with a challenge. I had begun to have doubts about the legitimacy of voting. I wrote an article about voting a month or so ago. I was adamant that the integrity of democracy would stand the most vile and reprehensible of attacks on it premises, like what is being waged in Florida. I still believe that.

The President went to France this week to celebrate the Arc de Triomphe for a ceremony to honor the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. There are many articles chastising the president for not attending the ceremony because of the rain and rightly so. What is not so right though is the French president criticizing the American President for his political views. While thousands of dead American soldiers are laid out in front of them, he thought it would be a good idea to embarrass and discuss the American presidents political views instead of thanking him for his country’s sacrifice in securing the French nation’s freedom. I wrote about the European hard-on for seeing the demise of the United States a while ago in an article called “Keeping It In The Family.” I cannot believe the French president would stand up there with or without the American president in attendance and criticize the representative of the American people in front of thousands of dead American soldiers. Who does that? A lot of us think the world doesn’t like President Trump. The world doesn’t like America folks.  We have been the greatest nation on this planet for the last one hundred plus years and people don’t like it. President Trump s just an excuse they use to hit us with. They want to take over and they feel this is their best chance with the American electorate being not favorable to the president. They want to influence foreign policy for the next President. So how did I pivot from my first paragraph to this one?

Guess who the players are trying to influence the American electorate through social media. That’s right, most of the players are from outside the United States.  Now while I’m at it, I want to give a shout out to all my Nazi, Racist, White Nationalist and Klansmen Americans. I want you to drop them flags, spray paint cans and crosses for a moment and pick up a laptop. Google “The Fall of America,” I got 1 million plus hits in  2.5 seconds. Feel me. I know that’s not what you want. Just like social media, the majority of these articles are written by journalist outside the states. Some are not even journalist, but are agitators. Every American has a stake in how fair and transparent the elections are. You may not agree with the outcomes and you might even want to burn a cross or two, but at least you know when your turn comes around and it will or has, it was an American choice. We need to be on this together. Good or bad, we cannot allow them to destroy our country. My brothers and sisters, do your research. Make sure you are not putting out “their” message. What ever happens to America is going to hit us twice as hard as anybody else. The rest of you guys, I’m going to quote from a Florida gubernatorial candidate named Andrew Gillum, “My grandmother use to say, “never wrestle with a pig, you both get dirty, but the pig likes it.”” So ignore the pigs and defend the sanctity of the vote. Oh yeah, and if I’m still invited to the cookout, may I have chicken with macaroni and cheese please?
