Don’t Bring Your Dog To Crap On My Lawn

I have two dogs, Jake and Sparky. I love my dogs. When I got them, I knew I would have to do things for them. Feed and water them, make sure they got their shots, and let them out to play and relieve themselves. That’s what dog owners do. I let them  pretty much have their own way when I let them out in my yard. Of course there are a  few rules. Don’t dig up my yard and don’t leave the property. My back yard is fenced in, so no worries there. Who wants to spend all day in their backyard all the time?  Besides, I have a correction collar on them, and  when they don’t behave, I correct them. Some of you probably think that’s some evil stuff. Its not. Contrary to the popular belief that the collars shock, they don’t. You can say I’m not a trusting person, but I’m not putting anything on my dogs which I think would harm them. So I tried it out on myself first. Its not a shock so much as it is a vibration. Startles the heck out of them. It sure gets their attention, it got mine. Anyway, on occasion I let them out front. My front yard is not fenced in, but I have trained them not to go past my property line and yes they crap in “my” yard only, I sit and watch them while they are out front. I don’t think  it gives anybody else the right to let their dogs crap in my yard, just because I let my dogs do it. This is my property. I pay the taxes and mortgage here. Sometimes they get crazy with it, and go to the “don’t go over there” zone, but its far and few in-between and they are not crapping in my neighbors yard. We all have our peeves, you know, the things that gross us out. A couple of mine are if someone says “thank you,” then you say ” you are welcome” or using the same knife in the jelly and butter, man I hate that. But bringing your dog to crap on my lawn, I don’t care if you have a bag, is in the top 10. If you need to let your dog relieve themselves, let them do it in your yard. I know folks take their dogs out to get exercise and they probably do it to get a little fitness in themselves. Its nothing wrong with that. Like I said, I let my dogs out front occasionally, but when I think they need more or “I need more,” I take them to the park. I don’t walk them around the neighborhood, where they can crap anywhere they want. I don’t think I’m being petty. Today I told a neighbor, not to let his dog relieve himself on my property. He told me, “he had a bag .. thank you.” I wanted to get vulgar with it but I said,” Please sir keep your dog off my property,” instead of ” #$##, I don’t care if you have a bag, !! Don’t bring that $#@## dog on my property again!! Thank you too!!”  It is what it is. Drop us a comment to let us know how you feel about dogs pooping in your neighborhood.

  1. In the District of Columbia we have a law where they must bag what ever the animal on the leash does. However I do understand being one who maintains his lawn meticulously you not wanting other people’s animals to poop in your yard.
