“Is There Anything More Fun Than A Trump Rally?”

President Donald Trump got business out of the way quickly Saturday night urging voters to elect Republican congressional candidate Rick Saccone (R), who’s locked in an unexpectedly tough special election battle in Pennsylvania with Conor Lamb (D). The election will fill the vacancy created by the departure of incumbent Tim Murphy (R). Murphy a pro-lifer, announced his resignation in October 2017, following reports that he encouraged a woman with whom he had an extramarital affair to have an abortion.

The President’s support for Saccone was on the burner, but not the front burner, as he lashed out at his perennial opponents and critics.  President Trump, dropping any guise about being presidential called NBC host Chuck Todd a “sleeping son of a bitch.” He did not leave many stones unturned, attacking Oprah Winfrey and Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters. Of the latter President Trump had this to say,  “Did you ever see her? Did you ever see her? ‘We will impeach him. We will impeach the president,” she said. She’s a low IQ individual. You can’t help it.”  President Trump touted his tax reform plan, his new tariffs on steel and aluminum imports and his newly announced plan to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The president also talked about his desire to impose capital punishment on drug dealers, describing a discussion with Singapore’s president about that country’s hard-line approach. It was a vintage Trump rally, complete with vitriol toward the media, animosity against his political opponents and red meat for his base. Like the President said, “Is there anything more fun than a Trump rally?”
