A Sham And A Disgrace

The President has renewed his calls for tougher libel laws on the heels of the release of “Fire and Fury,” by Michael Wolff. Calling the federal libel laws a sham and disgrace. “We are going to take a strong look at our country’s libel laws so that when somebody says something that is false and defamatory about someone, that person will have meaningful recourse in our courts and if somebody says something that’s totally false and knowingly false, that the person that has been abused, defamed, libeled, will have meaningful recourse. We want fairness. You can’t say things that are false, knowingly false and be able to smile as money pours into your bank account.” The book allegedly details the workings of policy decisions and rapport between members of the Presidents inner circle. Steve Bannon, the President’s former Chief Strategist and one of the persons interviewed for the book has come under withering criticism from the President and his administration. Stephen Miller, senior adviser for policy to President Trump just this week on CNN, called the remarks by Mr. Bannon, ” grotesque.” Earlier the President condemned Mr Bannon’s remarks saying in part, ” Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my Presidency.
