It’s Not True

Hard right photoshopping another argument.

The hard right has disseminated a doctored photograph of Emma Gonzalez tearing up the US Constitution. If you don’t have a response to an argument, make one up. The real image from Teen Vogue shows Gonzalez ripping up a target for practice at a gun range. It went viral after self-proclaimed free speech site Gab posted it on Twitter. Teen Vogue’s chief content officer, Phillip Picardi, tweeted a comparison of the original photo and the photoshopped one. Gonzalez has become one of the faces behind the gun control movement following the Feb. 14 mass shooting at Stoneman Douglas. This is not the first time Gonzalez has been attacked. Leslie Gibson, a Republican candidate for the state House in Maine, called her a “skinhead lesbian” and David Hogg a “bald-faced liar.” he went on to say, “There is nothing about this skinhead lesbian that impresses me and there is nothing that she has to say unless you’re frothing at the mouth moonbat.” Gibson dropped out of the race after receiving red hot criticism from both Republicans and Democratic.  Emma has become a figurehead for the #NeverAgain movement after surviving the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Valentine’s Day. She made a well-received speech at the huge March for Our Lives rally in Washington D.C. Saturday, which included a striking prolonged moment of silence.

In a little over 6 minutes, 17 of our friends were taken from us, 15 were injured and everyone in the Douglas community was forever altered.” ‘Everyone who was there understands. ‘Everyone who has been touched by the cold grip of gun violence understands. ‘For us, long, tearful, chaotic hours in the scorching afternoon sun were spent not knowing. No one understood the extent of what had happened.’

The moment of silence lasted six minutes 20 seconds, the same amount of time it took Nikolas Cruz, 19, to kill 14 of her fellow students and three school workers.
