No Realer Than This

On the 7500 block of South Stewart Avenue in Chicago, Mothers Against Senseless Killings had organized a neighborhood watch. During the summer for the last four years volunteers sat on that corner because too many members of their families and friends were killed on that corner and they just wanted to do something about it. So they sat and they watched. Every so often the community would gather on that corner and celebrate and they had something to celebrate for, because the killings had stopped.

On July 27, 2019 the killing started again. Around 10pm a blue SUV stopped at the corner, opened fire and then sped off into the night after killing two and injuring two others. Twenty six year-old Chantell Grant and thirty five year-old Andrea Stoudemire were killed. Two mother killed trying to protect their children and other children from the senseless violence that is black on black crime. Who’s gonna tell their babies, they won’t be coming home no more.

Tamar Manasseh, the founder of Mothers Against Senseless Killings said it best, “The murders of two volunteers who spent time looking out for kids on the corner crossed the line.” That’s right, those #@@!$$ crossed the @#@!##! line!! Every black person in America should be actively participating in the capture of those fiends, by giving money, posting information about it on their social media and letting the authorities know in no uncertain terms we we want these #@@!$ captured.. alive!! Just like the Latinos did down in El Paso, when they brought in the killer of their people alive, we want the killers of our women and children brought in alive too. Death at the hands of the police should not be an option for them. The only way we would want them dead, is if they killed themselves.

Now normally I like to stay out of crime reporting. My thing is racism. I know statistically that white people kill white people and black people kill black people and the same is with all other races. I also know that historically black people ain’t going to get a fair shake when it comes to the justice system. But you know something, white people won’t hide the killers of women and children. They don’t protect them. If a white person goes out and kills two white mother’s who are out protesting violence in their neighborhood, the vigilantes are coming out, the police are coming out, somebody knows something, and they better give it up. They got lines you don’t cross. We need them too.

Black on black crime only flourishes in our communities because black people let it flourish. Now I’m not talking about about the brother that sell weed, or the one hustling outside the corner store. Sh!t I have brought it hot a couple of times, you need to lock your doors, I know I lock mine. No, I’m talking about the thousands of black mothers, babies and young men we bury every year with bullet holes in them. Everyday in black communities all across America there is a black preacher standing over a casket asking why? Sometimes it more than one casket. “Another child has been taken by these street dear lord, another family suffering and in pain. We ask you dear lord to deliver this family to your everlasting grace and love, In the name of the Father and Son we pray.” He hears us and our prayers. He takes the families under his grace and love and he delivers them to peace. But we can’t keep asking the Lord to help us be “alright” after we have to bury our children and family members after they have been shot in the face with a gun. As I said before, he answers that prayer. We need to pray for something else. We need to pray that these people killing us in our communities are caught and punished.
