They Want To Come For You

April Ryan has really upset the President’s base, all the way down to the bone and they say they coming for her. Ryan, a long time White House correspondent has received death threats for doing her job. Last Wednesday after asking press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders if President Trump had considered resigning, it hit the fan. “They’re angry. I’ve been getting death threats and we’ve been calling the FBI and I mean, I put one on social media and this is real,” Ryan told CNN. She has been a member of the White House press corps for American Urban Radio Networks since January 1997 and has long been the only black female reporter among the White House correspondents. She is a member of the National Press Club and has served on the board of the White House Correspondent’s Association. In May 2017, the National Association of Black Journalists named her “Journalist of the Year.” According to Ryan, “I asked a simple question … I did not point a finger, I asked a question and now my life is in jeopardy because of a question. But I’m going to continue to do my job.” Ryan poised the question in response to the recent arrest of Michael Cohen. Cohen is the President’s personal lawyer and is current under criminal investigation. Last week the FBI raided his offices and home, seizing computer equipment, cell phones and records.  Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, dismissed Ryan’s question as “ridiculous.” Ryan has also said that she’s gotten death threats before, one time after asking former press secretary Sean Spicer about the perception of connections between the administration and Russia. Ryan has also mixed it up with Sander’s, questioning if she really bake the pecan pie she posted on Twitter. Ryan has contacted the FBI and they are investigating the new death threats.
