January Drop Award

You know something? We are all familiar with racism that you can see. You know what I mean.. the racist tirades:

The proving that you live here sh*t:

Even the outlawing of the hair that grows out of yo head:

…. and all other kinds of other craziness. Well, there is there also the racism that we don’t see.. the kind where they hide the white sheets in that chest in the basement… and the swastika’s they put under the mattress in the attic. Case in point:

This picture was published in the Associated Press this week concerning a story about young climate activists.

This is the original picture.

Now I’m gonna tell you something right now… Ima take my shoes off and kick up my heels… cause somebody got some explaining to do. So that bullcrap they talking about they were trying to improve the composition so they had to cut the black girl out.. is about as believable as “I ain’t do nothing wrong, it was a perfect phone call.” The photographer said he did it because the building on the left side of the picture was distracting…

Eh… what building?

#@@@!^% please.. We know what you did and you have been called on it. Climate activist Vanessa Nakate said she was invited to attend a youth climate science event. When news coverage of the event emerged, she noticed she had been cropped out of a photograph, where she appeared alongside alongside activists Greta Thunberg, Isabelle Axelsson, Luisa Neubauer and Loukina Tille. So if Vanessa wouldn’t have said anything you would have went right on your merry little way cutting cutting out and replacing black people in your photographs all over the world. We will never know.

“Everyone saying that I should position myself in the middle is wrong! Does an African activist have to stand in the middle just because of fear of being cropped out? It shouldn’t be like this! Why did you remove me from the photo? I was part of the group! I see the photos and I clearly see how I was cropped out of the photos. This is the first time in my life that I understood the definition of the word racism.”- Vanessa Nakate

The Associated Press has apologized for the “misunderstanding” and has restored the picture in it paper to the original. As for me.. Ima tell you the same thing that Johnny Mathis and Deniece Williams might have told you…

“Too much, too little, too late to ever try again
Too much, too little, too late, let’s not end it being friends
Too much, too little, too late, we knew it had to end
And it’s over
It’s over m#@f@!!”
