Insane is an interesting word. Webster’s dictionary defines it as, (1) : exhibiting a severely disordered state of mind or (2) : affected with mental illness. Now the “Unabridged That’s Right Hill1 News Hood dictionary,” defines insane as (1) : WTF is wrong with you!! What we are about to report is going to be straight up ” bat shi## crazy.” There is a quarterly award called the Darwin Award which is given out to people in which the rest of the world would be better off if they weren’t in the gene pool. As a matter of fact, lets just use the awards mission statement to explain its reasoning and purpose. “Honoring Charles Darwin, we commemorate those who improve our gene pool–by removing themselves from it in the most spectacular way possible.” You can click here for the most recent recipient of the award.
Hill1News has a similar award called the “Drop Award.” Our award is given out on a monthly basis. DROP is an acronym for Dumb Racist Or People. We don’t count racist as people, since they don’t count us as people. We will be featuring July’s winner tomorrow, so stay tuned. Anywho, like the Drop Awards, the Darwin Awards can’t predict future events. Sometimes Darwin and Drop Award candidates skip generations. For instance you can have a toothless stank racist grandfather “spittin tebakee and shi##,” and you can have his grandson on the board of 100 Black Men, trying to get them to change their name to 100 Black Men and Me. You never know. Anywho, today’s report is sad and it’s hard to believe.
It happened on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. A family on vacation was docked at San Juan on Sunday. Along with the son and his wife were the couple’s child, 18-month old Chloe Wiegand and their grandparents. Reports from several news organization say that the child’s grandfather dangled her over the balcony and she slip out of his hands. She fell 11 stories resulting in her death. The grandfather allegedly held the baby out the balcony window and loss his grip.. let that sink in. Witnesses said they heard the child hit the ground and a woman’s screams. The grandfather wanted the child to see the ship dock. So you held her out the window? That’s insane!! I don’t know how many of you remember when Michael Jackson held his son Prince over a balcony ledge.
“In an apparent attempt to connect with his fans gathered below, the singer had held the boy, using just one arm around the baby’s waist, over the edge of the metal railing while greeting the crowd gathered four stories below. Fans cheered, but some also screamed, concerned he might drop the baby. The child, who had a towel over his head, was the singer’s youngest child, Prince Michael II. Child Abuse America’s Kevin Kirkpatrick told wire services. “Holding a child like that with what appeared to be one arm while leaning over a fourth-floor balcony window is pretty careless to say the least. I would tell anyone who saw an adult dangling a child out of a window to call a child protection hotline and the police.” – MTv
That was only four stories high. That picture of the Residence Inn in Foggy Bottom above is a 10 story building. Imagine holding a baby over the ledge of that roof and then add another 10 feet. Earlier in the story I said the grandfather held the child out of a balcony window. I just checked my sources again and it seems he held her out of a dining room window. Of course the grandfathers lawyer is saying the window was faulty.
“The family’s attorney, Michael Winkleman, disputes this characterization of the incident. “I do think that there is going to be blame and significant blame on the cruise line,” Winkleman told NBC News on Tuesday. He said that the toddler loved glass and windows, seeing through to the other side, and her grandfather had placed her on a ledge by a glass wall but had no idea one window within the wall was open. Why in the world would you leave a window open in an entire glass wall full of windows in a kids area?” Winkleman asked: “Why would you have that kind of danger without any warning, without any sign, without any notice?” -CNN
Now either you was holding the baby and the baby fell out of your grip, or you wasn’t watching the baby and the baby climbed out the window. That’s the only two ways that baby could have fell 11 stories to her death. This is so painful to write about. It took you all of one day to get a lawyer. How many minutes did you grieve before you went for the money. You are allegedly responsible for your granddaughter’s death. Ain’t no money gonna fix that old man. All I can say is what happened was insane.
