Grand Kleagle Bugs Bunny

Black History

As children many of us spent our Saturday mornings in front of a TV with a bowl of cereal and a care not. As long as the milk was cold, the Frosted Flakes crispy and the remote within arm reach, the world was ours. It was the best of times and the worst of times… I know many of you think I had more than milk in that cereal bowl, but I’m not kidding, that little three or four hours was sacred!!

Before we began this article, I want to explain a little bit about the hierarchy of the Klu Klux Klan. Now I know many of you would rather have an enema on the back of a rhesus monkey with ringworms in China, but it’s important to the story. The Klan has a hierarchy. The leader is called the Imperial Wizard. One of the subservient officer’s duty is to recruit other members. That officer’s title is called Kleagle. Sounds like beagle, but if I go there, I’m not going to finish this article. I might go there in another article… who knows… So that’s where I get my title, “Grand Kleagle Bugs Bunny.” So I’m just telling you that if you hear somebody say it in your presence… hot diggity dog… there may be a rope in your future.

Racist cartoons have been around since the 1930’s. Now that’s saying something, because the first television set was patented in 1927 and the first television set sold to the public was in 1928. Yes, I want to get ugly with dat… but I’m going to stay focused. Speaking of staying focus, not many racist productions can hold a candle to Looney Tunes. From the 1930’s all the way up to the late 1960’s, they were responsible for turning millions of children into bigots, racist and some into murders. The legacy of their hatred is nothing short of what can be called crimes against humanity. In street talk, that shit was foul and the mfers ought to be dug up, bull whipped and put on display at the corner of MLK and Malcolm X Ave. Okay, I’m getting a little bit ugly… I’m trying to make this a family oriented blog.

Looney Tunes was known for introducing Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Tweety, Sylvester, Granny, Yosemite Sam, Foghorn Leghorn, Marvin the Martian, Pepé Le Pew, Speedy Gonzales, Tasmanian Devil, Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote and many other cartoon characters. Although all of the characters may have had roles in introducing racism to children, The wacist wabbit, Bugs Bunny was among the worst. To think he was at one time my favorite. A small part of me believes that’s where the saying, “what’s up?,” comes from, we just dropped the “doc.”

I singled out Herr Bugs because he was my favorite. But he was not the only racist cartoon character. Not by a long shot. In 1968 Warner Brothers a film studio, created a “Censored 11. A list of cartoons they refused to air or make available for purchase on any media. I have watched a couple of them. I am not going to share them with you because some of y’all might get a “tude,” and you know you need your job. I even ran across a racist 1943 Coal Black and De Sebben Dwarfs. I’m not kidding. It might affect you. Personally, I’m eating as many rabbits this week as I can and opening up a buy/sell rabbit foot or head website… anywho…

I can’t just make this claim without proof. After all I am not the President. But before I go and in all seriousness, I want you think about the millions of white children who grew up looking at this filth. Its was like a subliminal racist indoctrination. We can’t blame kids for watching cartoons, but now that they are grown they should know “whats up.”
