October Drop Award

I keep a hidden file cabinet in my closet behind those clothes I’m never gonna wear again and those yellow shoes with the matching socks. Don’t ask about the shoes and the socks, I’m still feeling some kinda way after the first time I wore them. Anyway it’s a two drawer file cabinet and in the first drawer I keep my YL files which stand for “You Lying.” In the bottom drawer I keep my IWAMW files, which stand for, ” I Wish A @##! Would.” Now there is a criteria for what file goes into what drawer. Like when I heard that the President said something about a lynching because they wanted his tax returns, well like any competent raceologist, I know that when a racist says something about lynching, that’s just racist doublespeak for, “They treating me like a n*****.” So when I heard that, I’m like, “You lying!!, ” and I put it in the top drawer. Now, when I heard that some teacher painted a bullet hole on a black child’s head for Halloween and sent that baby home to his mother like that, well I had to subdivide the bottom draw and make a new section for files under ” ITTLTWD,” which stands for “If It’s The Last Thing We Do.”

Now, I’m not really surprised. In 1963 Martin Luther King wrote his “Letter From Birmingham.” He was there to help integrate one of the most racist bastions in the southern confederacy, okay… they lost the Civil War, but if you lived in Birmingham, Alabama in 1963 either you was white or you was white, that’s it… as far as they were concerned nobody else lived in Birmingham Alabama. “Oh those negra’s … they was doing fine until that communist Martin Luther Coon came down here… ” Those pictures you have seen of the dog attacks on the black freedom fighters in the Civil Rights War were taken in Birmingham, Alabama, at the hands of one of the most notorious racist who ever chewed “tobakee and spat, Eugene “Bull” Connor.” Now I don’t want to get off subject, but let’s just say if that racist was still alive, I would subdivide ITTLTWD into a section called “WMTS,” ” We Mean That @!!$” Bull Connor died in 1973. Governor George C. Wallace, another ardent racist of the 60’s said of Connor, “He served many positions of public trust over his lifetime and I deeply regret it to learn of his passing. He had worked hard for the people of our state and we will miss him very much.” I know I said I would get back to the subject at hand, but I just wanted to mention one more thing before we continue. Yes, Wallace was an ardent racist until somebody shot him in the ass at Laurel Shopping on Rt 1, yep, in the same parking lot that the Toys R Us was.. they shot him right in the ass there… a white man and before he passed in 1998 he denounced racism. Let history be his judge. That shopping center is also the place where Mohamed Atta sent $5,000 to Mustafa Ahmad via a wire transfer he initiated at the Giant Food next to the alley… well I call it an alley… anyway Atta was one of the 9/11 hijackers in the bombing of the World Trade in New York. Okay, I know you saying why don’t he stick to the story like the oatmeal I left in that pot in the sink this morning.. I will.. but we have a story to tell. Although we come from the land of Kings and Queens rich with history, we have our own history here. Kunta Kinte ain’t got nothing on us.. man it’s good being black… most of the time.

When Zakiya Milhouse son, Amonn came home for school that day, she was like what’s that on your forehead. The second grader said his teacher painted it on him for Halloween. His teacher said it’s like he got shot… She was messed up about it. In a Facebook post she wrote, “I don’t like that sh**! I don’t care if it’s Halloween or NOT! A bullet hole in the head.” She felt some kind of way because “it looked so real.” Now to be fair Zakiya did give permission for her son to participate in the drama class and for the teacher to have permission to use makeup. But as we all know, the teacher may have a baccalaureate degree in drama, but most black folks have a Doctorate or better, and if you want to learn something about drama, then paint a bullet hole on one of our children… you @##$!! Now according to “BET”, ” The teacher, whose name was not released, told Milhouse there was no malice behind the depiction and explained the lesson was intended to help students appreciate and understand the technical elements of performing arts. Okay, I’m calling BS in bold letters. If that teacher had came out to his car after work and someone had painted bullet holes on the side of his car, then let’s see how much appreciation and understanding of the technical elements he have of that of #@!!#. I have to go straight up DC… “Come on now..” As for the school, they posted a statement after seeing black fists balled up all over the country saying, “Birmingham City Schools is aware of an image posted by a parent on social media depicting a wound on a student’s head. The student was participating in a theater class unit on stage, film, and special effects. As a culturally responsive school system, Birmingham City Schools takes issues like this very seriously and does not condone the graphic nature of this lesson on special effects. We regret any issues and perceptions this incident may have caused, and this portion of the lesson will be removed from the unit.” So although your school dress code policy states forbids, ” Sunglasses, buttons, jewelry, accessories, or any clothing with offensive, Lewd, vulgar, obscene language, slogans or pictures which advocate/advertise use of drugs or alcohol or depict weapons or acts of violence,” its okay to paint bullet holes on a child’s forehead. &^^% please… Let’s add up the offenses. As promised I am adding racist stupidity to the point system for the Drop Awards. Racist stupidity point totals are awarded at the editor’s discretion.
